The first i need [to produce art is] a calm peace of mind. So the first thing i need - which is essential - is i need to think. This can be inside a car in traffic or i might need to walk by the seaside or i might be climbing up in the mountains. So a clear peace of mind is very important and it is hard to keep this these days because when you open the newspapers there is war all over the newspapers - so you cannot take your mind out of this war and [this] killing [of] people, this terror. And recently, many of my works are related to these terror issues and war.

We have a very strong Masal culture, which is 1001-nights culture - [it] is very [strong], it [i]s oriental.

My father was an architect and he also had bright ideas, so one day he was thinking of establishing a fish farm, [the] next day he is thinking of opening a factory of like packed goods, and he never realized any of these ideas …
